Abstract
On October 17, 2008 the bianually held Symposium of the Commission,Clinical Studies" of the German Society for Neurology took place in Essen. In these symposia, those neurologists involved in clinical studies meet with representatives of the industry, research sponsors and institutions that play important roles in the performance and interpretation of clinical studies. It was agreed that neurology in Germany continues to be well represented in national and international studies. The approval of radiological procedures during clinical trials and the initiation and performance of investigator-initiated studies still seem to present problems.
