Abstract
The presented project is the first one ever to systematically cover the state of the art in evaluation in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in ten selected policy fields. In addition, it provides an overview of current institutional embeddings of evaluation functions in the political systems on the federal level. Finally, perspectives about the further development and professionalization in the field of evaluation are discussed.
