Three-dimensional corrective osteotomies of complex malunited humeral fractures using patient-specific guides

Vlachopoulos, Lazaros; Schweizer, Andreas; Meyer, Dominik C; Gerber, Christian; Fürnstahl, Philipp (2016). Three-dimensional corrective osteotomies of complex malunited humeral fractures using patient-specific guides. Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 25(12):2040-2047.

Abstract

Corrective osteotomies of malunited fractures of the proximal and distal humerus are among the most demanding orthopedic procedures. Whereas the restoration of the normal humeral anatomy is the ultimate goal, the quantification of the deformity as well as the transfer of the preoperative plan is challenging. The purpose of this study was to provide a guideline for 3-dimensional (3D) corrective osteotomies of malunited intra-articular fractures of the humerus and a detailed overview of existing and novel instruments to enlarge the toolkit for 3D preoperative planning and intraoperative realization using patient-specific guides.

TrendTerms

TrendTerms displays relevant terms of the abstract of this publication and related documents on a map. The terms and their relations were extracted from ZORA using word statistics. Their timelines are taken from ZORA as well. The bubble size of a term is proportional to the number of documents where the term occurs. Red, orange, yellow and green colors are used for terms that occur in the current document; red indicates high interlinkedness of a term with other terms, orange, yellow and green decreasing interlinkedness. Blue is used for terms that have a relation with the terms in this document, but occur in other documents.
You can navigate and zoom the map. Mouse-hovering a term displays its timeline, clicking it yields the associated documents.
