LHCb Collaboration; Bernet, R; Müller, K; Serra, N; Steinkamp, O; Straumann, U; Vollhardt, A; et al (2017). Observation of $B^+ \to J/\psi3\pi^+2\pi^-$ and $B^+ \to \psi(2S)\pi^+\pi^+\pi^-$ decays. European Physical Journal C - Particles and Fields, C77(2):72.

## Abstract

The decays $B^+ \to J/\psi3\pi^+2\pi^-$ and $B^+ \to \psi(2S)\pi^+\pi^+\pi^-$ are observed for the first time using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{−1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment in proton–proton collisions at the centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8TeV. The branching fractions relative to that of $B^+ \to \psi(2S)K^+$ are measured to be
$\frac{\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to J/\psi3\pi^+2\pi^−)}{\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to \psi(2S)K^+)} = (1.88 \pm 0.17 \pm 0.09) \times 10^{−2}$,
$\frac{\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to \psi(2S)\pi^+\pi^+\pi^−)}{\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to \psi(2S)K^+)} = (3.04 \pm 0.50 \pm 0.26) \times 10^{−2}$,
where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.
