Abstract

We study some conditions for the existence of a free-boundary for two different bidimensional models arising in the magnetic confinement of a plasma. We derive estimates on the size and location of the region surrounded by the free-boundary (known as plasma region) for both models. We also derive sufficient conditions for the non-existence of the free-boundary.
