A functional single nucleotide polymorphism (V158M) in the COMT gene is associated with aggressive personality traits

Rujescu, D; Giegling, I; Gietl, A; Hartmann, A M; Möller, H J (2003). A functional single nucleotide polymorphism (V158M) in the COMT gene is associated with aggressive personality traits. Biological Psychiatry, 54(1):34-39.

Abstract

These findings support the hypothesis that the functional polymorphism in the COMT gene may modify the phenotype of suicide attempts and anger-related traits. This, however, being a novel finding, should warrant further investigation.
