Abstract

The Contemptus sublimitatis, also known as Dialogus creaturarum, is a colection of 122 exempla written in the 14th century and quite famous till the 16th century. In the last years, the number of the manuscripts that are known to transmit this text has increased from 9 to 15 complete ones and a fragment. This paper, that is part of the research project of elaborating a critical edition of the Contemptus, aims at studying how the author of this collection used the auctoritates and how the manuscripts behave in relation to the sources quoted in the work.
