Monoclonal gammopathies are frequently complicated by kidney lesions that increase the disease morbidity and mortality. In particular, abnormal Ig free light chains (LCs) may accumulate within epithelial cells, causing proximal tubule (PT) dysfunction and renal Fanconi syndrome (RFS).
