Background: Sonographic assessment of optical nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) has the potential for non-invasive monitoring of intracranial pressure (ICP). Hyperventilation (HV) -induced hypocapnia is used in the management of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) to reduce ICP.
