Aproximación al lenguaje de los jóvenes: análisis léxico-semántico

Abstract

In this study we are going to analyse some characteristics of the way young Spanish people have been speaking during the last twenty years; specifically, we are going to focus on vocabulary. We are able to ascertain that the stock of words used by young people in the world of drugs or music is expanding towards colloquial language and later in lif e towards the standard language (Rodriguez, 2002: 20). Theref ore, the youth language is very important for the evolution of a language (Briz, 2003: 150). I intend to prove that there is a Lot of poetry in the youth lan­guage f or example in bad words as weil as in other invented words. Frequently these young people speak about classical poetry topics but with a different kind of rhetoric, finally with another language . This new way of expression is the subject of this work. 1 am going to analyse a number of rhetorical aspects as weil as the numerous semantic changes that happen during the process of building new words.
