The present study investigates some quantitative aspects of the tonic vocalism of the western Emilian dialect of Piandelagotti based on a corpus of data collected in 2008. It considers the relation between tonic vowel and post-tonic consonant lengths in three different syl- labic structures: in open syllable and in vowel lengthening contexts, the vocalic length is (nearly) double the consonantal length, whereas in closed syllables they tend to be equiva- lent.
