The book contains the proceedings of a colloquium entitled The double transmission of the Biblical text, held on June 11, 1999 at the Biblical Institute of the University of Fribourg, Switzerland on the occasion of Adrian Schenker’s 60th anniversary. Short and long text-forms or editions; Hebrew text and Greek translation; Jewish Scripture and Christian Bible: the title of the colloquium embraces multiple dimensions of double transmission, issues which are addressed by each of the five contributors in his or her own way.
