OBJECTIVE: The antioxidant potential N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) and its improvement of posttraumatic mitrochondrial dysfunction have been reported. This study investigated the effect of NAC on posttraumatic changes after controlled cortical Impact (CCI) injury. DESIGN AND SETTING: Prospective randomized controlled animal study.
