Some Failures of Riemann Solvers

Abgrall, Rémi (2017). Some Failures of Riemann Solvers. In: Abgrall, Rémi; Shu, Chi-Wang. Handbook of Numerical Methods for Hyperbolic Problems - Applied and Modern Issues. North Holland: Elsevier, 351-360.

Abstract

In this small chapter, we review a few problems of classical Riemann solvers for the Euler equations. They are all related to the existence of linearly degenerate fields in this system and the averaging procedure of finite volume methods. © 2017 Elsevier B.V.
