A unified NLO description of top-pair and associated Wt production

Kallweit, Stefan; Cascioli, Fabio; Maierhöfer, Philipp; Pozzorini, Stefano (2014). A unified NLO description of top-pair and associated Wt production. In: Loops and Legs in Quantum Field Theory, Weimar, Germany, 27 April 2014 - 2 May 2014, PoS - Proceedings of Science.

Abstract

We report on an NLO simulation of W+W−b ̄b production with massive b-quarks at the LHC.Thanks to the finite b-quark mass, W+W−b ̄b predictions can be extended to the whole b-quarkphase space, thereby including Wt-channel single-top contributions that originate from collinearg→b ̄b splittings, and quantum interference effects. The simulation is also applicable to exclusive0- and 1-jet bins, which is of great importance for Higgs-boson studies in the H→W+W−channeland for any other analysis with large top backgrounds and jetvetoes or jet bins
