Abstract

A questão de onde se falou o Proto-Tupi-Guarani (PTG) tem sido um ponto de debate considerável. Foram propostos pontos de origem no nordeste e sudoeste da Amazônia, apoiados principalmente por evidências arqueológicas e classificações linguísticas. Neste artigo, mostramos que a aplicação da teoria da migração linguística a uma classificação filogenética recente da família Tupi-Guarani favorece a hipótese de um ponto de origem nordestina na Amazônia.
