Die Lebensumstände und der Stellenwert alter Menschen sind im globalen Süden drastisch anders als in der Schweiz. Die Vorstellung, in Südostasien etwa sei ein liebevoller Umgang mit Pflegebedürftigen kulturell verankert oder in Ostafrika würden Betagte traditionell verehrt, ist stark romantisiert.
