Polymenidou, Kallirroi (2022).
Abstract
In the Archaeological Museum of Dion there is an interesting marble relief depicting Demeter and Kore from the area of Vrondou, Pieria, near Dion. It is a Late Classical votive relief in the form of a stele, a type that is rarely found in the region of ancient Macedonia. Its origin is all the more remarkable because it is most likely connected with a presumed Kore sanctuary in Vrondou. Significant is the existence of the local saint of the Christian period Hagia Kore in this area, which can be associated with Persephone-Kore.
