Abstract
In a 1986 letter, Primo Levi praised Luigi Meneghello's skill in acrobatically switching from one linguistic register into another. Primo Levi’s words about language also applies to style. This short contribution comments on a passage from Pomo pero. Paralipomeni d'un libro di famiglia, Meneghello's third book, published in 1974, highlighting the interplay between the comic and tragic registers.
