Abstract
The manifesto came out of our own desires and anxieties, and out of multiple conversations we had with each other and our colleagues over the past few months. We noticed how central the term ‹vulnerability› became when we tried to assess the new directions in which video essay culture seems to develop. This includes an increasing trend towards ‹personal› inscriptions, modes, and narratives. The manifesto is an invitation to think through and build on our individual and collective vulnerabilities in videographic thought and practice.
