Oxygen Modulation during Blood-Oxygen Level Dependent Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Healthy Subjects and Implications for Advanced Brain Tumor Imaging

Schulz-Rinne, Danya. Oxygen Modulation during Blood-Oxygen Level Dependent Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Healthy Subjects and Implications for Advanced Brain Tumor Imaging. 2024, University of Zurich, Faculty of Medicine.

Abstract

In neuroimaging, BOLD (Blood Oxygen Level Dependent) MRI is used to measure brain activity based on changes in blood flow and oxygen levels. Understanding the brain's response to various oxygen levels can help improve imaging techniques for diagnosing and monitoring conditions like brain tumors, by establishing normal patterns for comparison with abnormal tissue behavior.
