Fütterung und Kotkonsistenz von Flachlandtapiren (Tapirus terrestris) im Zürich Zoo

Clauss, Marcus; Aufranc, Rolf; Hatt, Jean-Michel (2008). Fütterung und Kotkonsistenz von Flachlandtapiren (Tapirus terrestris) im Zürich Zoo. Zoologische Garten, 77(5-6):297-302.

Abstract

The tapir feeding regime at Zurich Zoo was changed from a diet dominated by fruits, vegetables and bread, to a roughage diet based on lucerne hay. Animals became more active, and their faeces consistency improved markedly, so that it now resembles that of free-ranging animals.
