The principles of the healing methods of Theophrastus of Hohenheim, called Paracelsus (1493/94-1541)are analyzed. His medicine bases upon the four pillars of natural philosophy, astronomy, alchemy, and medical ethics. Paracelsus extends his ideas to a kind of apostolic medicine based on theological considerations and comprising metaphyscial healing.
