Abstract
これまで日米欧で、生き物の多様性を遺伝子レベルから理解しようと研究を進めてきた。研究内容の進化生態ゲノム学については、日本生態学会誌などに総説を書い たので(清水 2006;清水・長谷部 2007)、ここでは学生・ ポスドク・助教授を通じて、海外での生活がどんなものだったかを振り返って記してみたい。若い研究者が海外にチャレンジする一助になれればと願っている。
