Abstract

The research described in this paper demonstrates for the first time that it is possible to generate MRT-images of mummies and dry tissues, respectively, on a clinical MRT-machine without previous rehydration. This is made possible by use of the "Ultra-Short-Echo-Time" (UTE) program. Furthermore, it was shown that certain structures emit very clear signals in the MRT-imaging software. They can thus be better captured than in CT-imaging. Such strong signals are emitted i.a. by ligaments, intervertebral discs, and remainders of embalmin
