Abstract

This paper was developed by Perspectives Climate Research gGmbH (PCR), with inputs from the Carbon Market Mechanisms Working Group (CMM-WG) and further technical experts consulted. We thank all the working group members and technical experts as well as the numerous survey participants for their input to this paper.
The CMM-WG is chaired by PCR and is funded and coordinated in close collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. The CMM-WG focuses on technical aspects of programmatic and upscaled crediting mechanisms in Article 6 of the Paris Agreement as well as results-based climate finance. The working group aims to facilitate a continuous dialogue on technical issues among key carbon market stakeholders.
